JavaScript can add content after a webpage first loads. Modern browsers usually display that content normally, so a visitor may never notice the difference.
Not every automated system runs a page in the same way. Some use the original page content, some render JavaScript and others stop when loading takes too long. That means important information can be visible to a person but unavailable to a particular AI system.
