What will AI understand when someone asks about your business?
People increasingly ask AI about businesses, services and choices instead of searching through pages of results.
Being online is no longer the whole picture. The question is also whether an AI can work out who you are, what you do, who you help and what public evidence supports its answer.
AI does not always find or interpret information in the same way
Different AI systems can reach different sources, give different weight to the same evidence and make different inferences.
If public information is incomplete, inconsistent or unclear, an AI has less reliable context from which to build an answer. There is no single definitive version of how “AI sees you”, so it is worth asking carefully and looking at the evidence behind the answer.
AI understanding is not the same as SEO
SEO is largely about helping information get discovered.
AIR asks a different question: What might an AI understand from the public information it can find about your business?
The two can overlap, but they are not the same thing.
What AIR helps you test
AIR began as Wayli’s attempt to build a deterministic assessment. We tested it, discovered that reproducible interpretation was not always reliable, and stopped scoring businesses rather than continue with a methodology we could not fully defend.
We now share the question and supporting framework so you can explore it with the AI system of your choice. The AIR guides provide five useful lenses when you are ready to examine the answer in more detail.
The Wayli case study preserves how changes to our public information affected the scores produced during the earlier experiment. Those dated scores are historical, not a current AIR service.
Try it for yourself
Wayli can prepare the question for you. Take it to the AI system you already use and see what it can establish. Different systems may answer differently; that is part of the experiment.
Prepare Before You Prompt.
